Deacon Ministries

Congregational Care at PCW

Rejoice in hope. be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints, extend hospitality to strangers.   – Romans 12:12-13

Our Book of Order describes the Deacon’s ministry of one of “compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress.”

Our Deacons respond to this calling through ministries of care and hospitality such as Ushering Ministry, Card Ministry, Funeral and Memorial Receptions, and Visiting Ministry.

For more information or to participate in these ministries, contact: John Stickney, Deacon Moderator at johnthomasstickney@yahoo.com.

PCW Partners

PCW Partners are paired with those in the PCW community who are no longer able to be as regular a part of church life as they once were. Partners provide a caring presence through regular contact – a visit, a phone call, or a note. Partners receive so much more!

Prayers and Squares

Prayers and Squares is a worldwide ministry, which offers an expression of love and support through the gift of a quilt. Our Prayers and Squares ministry designs, makes, and distributes quilts for celebrations such as new babies or baptisms and for those going through a tough time such as recovering from surgery or dealing with illness.

If you know someone who could use a quick or if you are interested in being a part of this ministry, contact: Karen Bammerlin at kajbamm@gmail.com.

Meal Ministry

This ministry provides meals to congregation members who are suffering from illness, coming home after a hospital stay or have an upcoming medical procedure, or have just welcomed a new baby into the family.

To join our list of meal providers or request meals on behalf of yourself or others, contact: Janese Stickney at janeseobrienstickney@gmail.com.

Prayer Ministry

On Tuesday mornings at 9:15, the PCW Prayer Group meets to pray for those who have asked to be placed on the prayer list. You are always welcome to take part in this important expression of support.
