PCW Women’s Ministry Presents:
The 2010 Women’s Retreat
Savoring the Spirit: Embracing our Freedom in Christ
April 16-18
Keynote speaker and worship leader, Rev. Jerusha Matsen Neal
Jerusha is an ordained American Baptist pastor currently pursuing her Homiletics doctorate at Princeton Theological Seminary. Several years ago, through her morning quiet time, God invited her to increase her courage in ministry through taking up an old love: acting. Since then, she has performed in several professional theatre productions and performed an original one-woman play. She is married to Wes Neal, a United Methodist pastor, and is a mother to Mercy (8) and Josiah (5). It gives her great joy to find the Spirit at work in unexpected places – sometimes, to our greatest surprise, in our own hearts and communities.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to sleep in a bunk house? You might be lucky enough to be assigned the “bunk house” but many of those beds have been spoken for! Though the communal living initially gave some women anxiety at our retreat last fall, we found the 5-star Bartel accommodations and excellent hospitality and surroundings quickly put us all at ease.
- What if I want to attend Julie Galloway’s fundraiser on Friday, April 16? We recognize that many people will be torn and we as the Women’s Retreat ministry team at PCW want to bless the fundraiser, so do go! We would ask two things however – 1) Please watch the movie Chocolat with the discussion guide prior to coming to the retreat and 2) Please plan to arrive at the Bartel’s Farm by no later than 8am on Saturday morning.
- Will there be any free time? Yes! There will be structured time but there will also be time to explore the grounds, try your hand at making truffles, or simply chat with new or old friends.
