The Wyoming area churches that support the highly successful Thanksgiving Box Program are working together to create new Mission opportunities to help our neighboring communities. We have been having discussions with Emily Schuler of the Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center and with Amy Snow, Moderator at the Reading/Lockland Presbyterian Church, to discern needs and how the area churches might help. We are planning for an upcoming service opportunity on June 2, and we hope you will join us.
Our goal is to assemble approximately 1,300 Power Packs which will be available to help feed families and children this summer through the Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center. Power Packs consist of 8-10 food items packed into gallon Ziploc bags which are easy to store, hand out, and which include easy-to-eat food for children. No donations are needed to fund this event, but if you would like to donate, please ensure that you provide the purpose in the memo section of your check and mail to The Presbyterian Church of Wyoming (Attn: Ron Stoerker).
We will assemble non-perishable Power Packs on Saturday, June 2nd, from 9a.m.-noon in front of The Presbyterian Church of Wyoming (inside the church in the event of rain).
